PRESS & PARTNERS

Partners

What partners and agencies forward, and how Powered by DEPARTMNT attribution works at every tier.

The forwardable one liner

#

One sentence, written to survive being pasted into a thread by someone who does not work here. No product names to explain, no category language to decode. If a champion has to add context before sending it, it is the wrong sentence.

DEPARTMNT builds the technology behind connected physical experiences. People tap a tag, something opens, and the brand can finally see what happened offline.

Say what happens, in the order it happens: someone taps, something opens, the brand sees it. The proof is the sequence, so keep it.

Powered by DEPARTMNT

#

Powered by DEPARTMNT is how we appear on work that is not ours. We are the infrastructure behind someone else's experience, so the partner's brand leads and ours states what is underneath it.

Draft: tier names and thresholds are waiting on the Section 09 table. What a partner carries is a contractual point, so an agreement always overrides this page.

Co-branding

#

Two approved lockups, horizontal and stacked. The partner mark leads in both. The mark shown beside ours in these examples is a stand-in: it sets the relationship and the proportions, not a real partner.

HorizontalThe default. Partner mark first, divider, then Powered by DEPARTMNT.

StackedFor narrow columns and tall formats, where the horizontal lockup would set too small.

Do

  • Lead with the partner mark; DEPARTMNT follows
  • Keep Powered by locked to the DEPARTMNT mark, never on its own
  • Match the two marks on optical weight, not on bounding box
  • Keep the divider rule at the height of the DEPARTMNT wordmark
  • Hold clear space of one X either side of the divider
  • Set both marks in the same colour

Don't

  • Put DEPARTMNT ahead of the partner mark
  • Lock a partner mark to the DEPARTMNT wordmark without Powered by
  • Scale the two marks to the same height and call it balanced
  • Recolour one mark to match the other
  • Rebuild the lockup by eye instead of using the master file
  • Set the horizontal lockup below 180px wide
